In Woody Allens Manhattan he quoted ‘New York was his town and it always would be’
– well this is how I see Manchester.

Instead of Gershwin I hear The Doves, The Stones Roses, The Smiths and Joy Division.

Instead of the Empire State Building I see The Free Trade Hall where
Bob Dylan first played electric guitar and was called Judas.

The Free Trade Hall where the Sex Pistols first played outside of London.

A city that is the first for vegetarianism, the world’s first industrial city which
shaped Marx’s and Engels views of modern society.

The city that homed the first computers.

A city that is home to over 30 Nobel Prize winners.

And do not get me even started on football and sport!!

Manchester is my town and it always will be!!
