Another week, another few days of work, but mostly importantly another opportunity to experience wild and wonderful from our STHLM WKNDR. This week we have scoured Stockholm for unique experiences that are making their way to the city for a limited time only, giving you the chance to head down and participate in the humdrum before these events whisk their way off our soils for another year.


 

1. EVENT
KALEIDOSCOPE VIRTUAL REALITY SHOWCASE | FRIENDS ARENA

Making their way across the world, dropping in to nine countries in only 43 days, Kaleidoscope brings an innovative and unique experience for the citizens of Stockholm. The virtual reality showcase is a mesmerising and stunning show that will open people’s minds to innovative and captivating premier experiences, including “psychedelic dance parties and empathy evoking journeys of the soul”. For a once in a lifetime experience that is on the cusp of becoming an international phenomenon, make your way along to the Kaleidoscope experience this Saturday.

2. OUTDOOR EVENT
WILDERNESS FAIR | STOCKHOLMSMÄSSAN
11 – 13/3

For one weekend only, we have found another fantastic event to get down to, especially if you are the outdoorsy type. Vildmarksmässan will be showcasing the best in outdoor activities, including urban sports, bike arena’s, diving and wilderness camps, all of which are available to experience under the watchful eye of the best experts in their respective fields. If your wanting to get off the beaten path, into the open air and into something that will get your pulse racing then come along to Vildmarksmässan for an eye opening experience.

3. YOU LIKE YOUR SAUSAGES?
KORV FESTIVALEN | NACKASTRANDS MÄSSAN
12 – 13/3

Making its third eagerly awaited appearance this weekend, Korv Festivalen is back and and is returning bigger and stronger than ever. Not only will there be a humongous variety of sausages to chew on, but the festival has extended its selection of beers to perfectly wash down one of the 50-60 sausages on offer. With over 5000 visitors making their way down last year, make sure you are at the front of the queue to experience one of the meaty delicacies on offer on Saturday and Sunday.

4. EVENT
STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW | GLOBE ARENA

Sunday wraps up the final day of Stockholm’s illustrious International Boat Show, with exhibitors out on show to wow prospective customers ready to buy into marine leisure. The finest sailboats, the leading brands in motor yachts and even if you aren’t in the mood for splashing the cash, window shopping is always in order just to gaze and the monumental wonders in all of their beauty and elegance. Last minute auctions, competitions, entertaining activities and prize filled contests are just a number of reasons to make your way down to the International Boat Show this Sunday.

5. ACTIVITY
MEGA SHOP DANCE  | KULTURHUSET
13/3

Can you dance, either can I, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a go! This weekend Mega Shop are offering the fantastic opportunity to come along and learn some moves that derive from Sweden’s street dance culture for completely free. If you are between 13-25 years old and looking for something new to keep you in shape and help you improve your quality on the dance floor, then Mega Shop is definitely the place to be this Sunday.

EXTRA GEM FOR THE WEEKEND
MUSIC
MELODIFESTIVALEN “REHEARSAL, MATINEE & FINAL” | FRIENDS ARENA
11 – 12/3

Making its way to Stockholm for its 56th edition. Melodifestivalen it’s back in town to find the next best representative for this years Eurovision Song Contest. After making its way through the all of the national submissions and the semi-final stages, the show comes to fruition with the final showdown. Twelve of the country’s most popular and musically gifted artists will come to musical blows in a final certainly packed full of drama, pizzazz and entertainment this weekend, so don’t stand for watching it on the TV and get down to the stadium for an unforgettable atmosphere.
